Introduction

A teacher given to the making of mature lives.

Bishop Mpendulo Zondi is a South African minister of the gospel whose work spans teaching, preaching, prophetic and pastoral ministry, leadership formation and Christian publishing. He is the founder and prelate of the Tabernacle of Glory Family of Churches — one church in multiple locations.

Known for an unreserved, down-to-earth preaching style, he is able to relate to people from diverse backgrounds, with a particular burden for emotional healing and the restoration of the spiritual authority of the believer. Over years of ministry to congregations, leaders and gatherings, a single conviction has held: that the Church is strongest not when it is loudest, but when its people are deeply formed.

He is the author of The Dysfunctions of Being Anointed, a series that looks honestly at the hidden costs of a divine calling and offers a pathway toward stable, formed leadership. Through Mpendulo Zondi Ministries, that work is carried to churches and leaders across South Africa and beyond.

The Ministry

What is Mpendulo Zondi Ministries?

Mpendulo Zondi Ministries is the vehicle through which this calling is expressed. It is not a congregation but a ministry to the Church — serving leaders, communities and believers through engagements, teaching and print.

Its purpose is spiritual formation: the transformation of ordinary believers into mature sons and daughters, and of willing servants into leaders who can carry weight.

Calling & Mandate

To form a people, and to raise those who lead them.

The mandate of the ministry is twofold. First, to see believers formed — rooted in Scripture, established in identity, and matured in character. Second, to raise leaders who lead from that formation: under authority, with clarity, and with the pastoral weight that only a shaped life can carry.

Everything the ministry does — every engagement, every teaching, every book — serves one or both of these ends.

“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.”

Galatians 4:19

Areas of Ministry

Expressions of one calling.

These are not services on offer. They are the ways in which a single mandate takes form.

  1. 01

    Teaching

Systematic, biblical teaching that builds understanding and produces conviction — for congregations, schools of ministry and leadership gatherings.

  2. 02

    Preaching

The proclamation of the gospel with clarity and weight, in churches, conferences and conventions.

  3. 03

    Prophetic Ministry

A mature, pastoral expression of the prophetic — directed at edification, exhortation and comfort, and always tethered to Scripture.

  4. 04

    Leadership Formation

The shaping of emerging and established leaders through intensives, mentorship and sustained teaching.

  5. 05

    Discipleship

Apprenticeship in the way of Christ — deliberate, relational and patient.

  6. 06

    Christian Publishing

A growing catalogue of books and written reflections that carry the teaching beyond the room.

  7. 07

    Ministry Engagements

Invitations to serve churches, leaders and gatherings — locally and internationally.

Philosophy

Formation is slow work. It is also the only work that lasts.

Much of contemporary ministry is built for speed — quick growth, quick answers, quick results. This ministry is built for depth. It takes the long view of Scripture: that God forms His people over time, through the Word, through community, through trial and through obedience.

Leadership, in this understanding, is not a position to be reached but a weight to be carried — and only a formed life can carry it without breaking. So the ministry gives itself to the making of such lives: teaching that produces thinking, discipleship that produces character, and prophetic ministry that produces clarity rather than confusion.

Transformation, then, is not an event. It is a direction. And the work of this ministry is to walk with the Church in that direction, one formed life at a time.

Scripture as ground
Every expression of the ministry is tethered to the Word — read carefully, taught faithfully, obeyed fully.
Maturity as aim
The goal is not activity but maturity: believers who think, stand and lead as sons and daughters.
Leaders under authority
Leadership is received before it is exercised. Those who lead well have first learned to be led.
Depth over reach
A few lives deeply formed outlast a crowd briefly moved.
